Recently we started a local user-group in the area of Rotterdam. At our first meetup, called "The Bootstrap", we spoke about the concept of the user-group, its goals, what we can expect from the user-group and what we want it to be. After the successful first meetup, we held our second (or the "real" first) meetup with the thought out format!

Peter Breuls, Ron van der Molen and I arrived at "De Machinist" where we held the meeting. We checked the room, the equipment, coins for drinks and got us some beer. It didn't took long before other people started showing up. Once again we had a great crowd, and I hope that this will still grow in time.

We started at 20:00 where Ron presented his talk, called "A crazy little thing called Scrum!", where he spoke about Agile, Scrum, and some of the basics of Extreme Programming. Although our talks are supposed to take up 50 minutes, max., Ron needed 70 minutes before he could finish his presentation. So I kinda needed to rush my presentation at some points.

My presentation actually went very well, a few hiccups but nothing special. I tried involving the crowd a little bit, answer a lot of questions and hopefully reach the crowd in getting interested in using Solr or at least ElasticSearch.

Those who are interested in my presentation, I've placed the slides below. Or you could check them out on Prezi.com.
